Maurice Roucel’s journey into perfumery started in the most unassuming way: at the beach in Cherbourg, France, where the smell of French fries mixed with the summer breeze and sunscreen sparked his fascination with scent. Born in 1946, Maurice didn’t have the typical start surrounded by delicate flowers or perfumes but was drawn to the familiar, earthy aromas of everyday life.
